In-Group Hospitality: A PEG Company Rolls Out Enhanced Cleaning Protocols as Hotels Relaunch in the Age of COVID-19

The leading hospitality management group is implementing new rigorous sanitization measures to help protect the health and safety of every associate and guest.

PROVO, Utah – In-Group Hospitality: A PEG Company [“IGH”], a leading hospitality group that operates more than 30 properties across the United States, is rolling out new rigorous cleaning protocols and safety measures geared toward enhancing the group’s already-strict cleanliness standards.

As economies reopen and properties relaunch, IGH’s top priority remains protecting the health and wellness of guests and associates at every hotel. As major brand partners including Hilton Hotels Group, Marriott International, and Hyatt Hotels continue developing sanitization solutions to address the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, IGH is actively engaged in implementing those guidelines while also enforcing their own.

“We believe that today’s challenges, while unprecedented, will not squelch the hospitality industry forever. We are seeing significant increases in occupancy at our properties every single day,” said Graydon Pearson, Chief Executive Officer, IGH. “Yes, operating in the current pandemic environment requires a thorough strategy, but we view this undertaking as an opportunity to improve, adapt, lead, and ultimately, emerge even stronger than before.”

Immediately upon recognizing the crisis at hand, IGH and its corporate partner PEG Companies [“PEG”] deployed in-depth business contingency plans at every property the group owns/manages, allowing those properties to weather the economic environment and relaunch as soon as local governments deem them safe to do so.

As part of the group’s safety guidelines to prevent and slow the spread of germs, they are taking the following cleanliness/safety measures at their properties:

  • Reducing Contact: IGH is encouraging guests to check in using their mobile devices whenever possible. At IGH properties, guests always have the option of using Mobile Key, which allows people to use their own cell phones as their room keys.
  • Providing Personal Protective Equipment: IGH associates across the country are currently required to wear masks for their own safety and the protection of others. Properties have also installed Plexiglas barriers at their front desks and added an abundance of hand sanitizer stations throughout their hotels.
  • Enhancing In-Room Sanitization: Guests now have the option to forego housekeeping services during their stay. If they prefer not to have housekeeping enter their room, linen and amenity replacements can be delivered directly to their door. Between guests, cleaning professionals are following rigorous decontamination protocols and using EPA-certified chemicals proven to be effective against COVID-19.
  • Leveraging the Latest Technology: Several operators are in the process of introducing cutting-edge technology including electrostatic disinfectant sprayers, UV light sanitization, air purifiers and filters, thermal imaging, and more. IGH properties are poised to be among the first hotels to receive these technologies as soon as they become available.
  • Elevating Food Safety Protocols: Open buffet items are not available at IGH properties during this time. At properties with on-site restaurants, staff are following elevated food safety protocols while offering curbside and carry-out options.

AC Hotel by Marriott Salt Lake City is becoming one of the first PEG properties to relaunch, bringing back 27 previously laid off associates to their jobs. PEG and IGH continue to diligently assess and prepare many of their other properties across the country to follow suit.

“We feel very fortunate to be in a position where we can help reintroduce jobs back into the economy,” said Cameron Gunter, Chief Executive Officer, PEG. “We feel a great sense of responsibility and hope as we carefully and strategically lead this shift into a new age of hospitality.”
