Vice President of Investment

Job summary

The Vice President of Investment will have a specific focus on spearheading the PEG strategy of developing Build-For-Rent product in the Mountain West region (AZ, UT, ID, CO).  This position will work with and report directly to the CIO and will be responsible for establishing and executing the strategic business plan which will include deal sourcing, site negotiation/acquisition, development management, entitlements, aspects of construction management, budget tracking, underwriting oversight, reporting, and other activities involved with complete strategy management.  The Vice President will collaborate with other internal departments and investors to successfully execute the business plan.

  • Create and execute the strategic business plan for the investment thesis, including programmatic description of product
  • Source land development opportunities and perform land acquisition activities such as negotiating LOI’s, review and oversight of PSA’s, performing due diligence functions, oversight of 3rd party engineers
  • Work with Director of Finance at PEG in closing construction loans and refinances
  • Oversee project management pertaining to site design and entitlements
  • Oversee project underwriting
  • Enhance investor relationships
  • As assisted by PEG Construction Management, manage construction of sites and perform construction oversight activities
  • Prepare investor pitch decks and oversee preparation of periodic investor reports
  • Manage investment vehicle financials and reporting
  • Meet with and report to members of the executive team periodically
  • As assisted by PEG Asset Management, oversee asset management of the developed properties
  • Recommend and oversee dispositions of properties
  • Perform extensive market analysis in becoming the market expert in development areas
  • Manage teams of analysts, project managers, construction managers, project managers
  • Work directly with the President of PEG Property Group and assist in oversight of property management initiatives of developed properties
  • Perform periodic site inspections and reviews of physical condition
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or related field. MBA or Graduate degree in Finance or Real Estate a plus
  • 5+ years of development oversight, land acquisition, transaction experience. Multifamily or Build-For-Rent specific experience a plus, but not a necessity.
  • Exposure to Development and Construction methods
  • An ability to communicate efficiently and concisely on salient points
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook required, MS Projects and Yardi a plus
