Job summary
The PEG Staff Accountant – Development is responsible for working with a team of professionals to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting deliverables for all development projects within PEG’s investment strategies. The Staff Accountant – Development will report to the Assistant Controller – Development and must be able to operate in a deadline-driven and collaborative environment. The Staff Accountant – Development must be a team player, self-starter, well organized, detail oriented and have the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement closes
- Reconcile cost trackers monthly to the general ledger
- Maintain financial statements in a multi-entity environment
- Prepare financial reports in compliance with U.S. GAAP
- Assist with the preparation and processing of monthly draw submissions to the lender for each respective project
- Assist with the capitalization of completed projects
- Communicate with the Assistant Controller – Development and the respective development managers keeping them up to date on the status of projects
- Drive continual process improvement through the use and implementation of technology
- Follow PEG policies and procedures and comply with state and federal laws
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- YARDI Job Costing experience preferred
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures related to U.S. GAAP development accounting
- Advanced MS Excel and strong written and verbal communication skills
