Staff Accountant- Multi Family & Commercial
The PEG Staff Accountant – Multi-family & Commercial is responsible for working with a team of professionals to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting deliverables for all multi-family and commercial projects within PEG’s investment strategies. The Staff Accountant – Multi-family & Commercial will report to the Assistant Controller – Multi-family & Commercial and must be able to operate in a deadline-driven and collaborative environment. The Staff Accountant – Multi-family & Commercial must be a team player, self-starter, well organized, detail oriented and can manage multiple projects concurrently. This is a full-time salaried position and may require overtime during busy periods.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement closes
- Reconcile bank accounts monthly and calculate NOI transfers
- Participate in working toward quarterly goals
- Maintain financial statements in a multi-entity environment
- Prepare financial reports in compliance with U.S. GAAP
- Assist with posting rent payments on commercial tenant ledgers
- Participate in monthly financial review calls with property and regional managers.
- Review and approve invoices daily to ensure they are entered accurately
- Commit payments weekly, and work with property managers, regional managers, and accounts payable team with any AP issues.
- Participate in team meetings to help innovate change and develop new processes.
- Follow PEG policies and procedures and comply with state and federal laws
- Work in office with potential to work remotely up to 2 days a week.
- Associate degree or 2yrs of related work experience
- YARDI software experience preferred
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures related to U.S. GAAP
- Knowledge in MS Excel and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
