Financial Analyst

Job summary

Become an integral part of the Investment Team which performs the primary financial analysis and management of information critical for investment decisions. The Investment Team’s work spans multiple product types across a broad range of the commercial real estate space. The Team’s main responsibility is to provide PEG’s investors with top-tier investment opportunities through thorough analysis of project economics and rigorous market analysis. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical prowess, be a strong strategic thinker, and have good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities
  • Manage underwriting processes and proformas for development and acquisition projects
  • Perform IRR, cash-on-cash, NPV, ROI, discounted cashflow, waterfall projections, fund and other financial analyses with minimal oversight
  • Be a mentor and example to junior members of the team
  • Assist Investment Managers in the acquisition of new properties into PEG’s existing portfolio including due diligence, working with 3rd parties (outside council, brokers, lenders, property inspectors, etc.), financial review and all other acquisition related activities
  • Assist Development Managers in the construction process including working with 3rd parties (architects, local governmental officials, city planners, etc.), manage the underwriting model throughout the entitlement process, and all other real estate development related activities
  • Assist the Asset Management Team by providing analytical support to the existing portfolio on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
  • Assist the Capital Markets Team by creating equity and investor presentations, provide analysis into portfolio returns and assist in the reporting process
  • Manage Investment Committee processes by creating memorandums, coordinate with all stakeholders in the project to ensure proper executive buy-in and present investment findings; market analysis, projected returns, construction/acquisition timeline, etc.
  • Research market trends impacting the real estate market
  • Work with and represent PEG with external parties: brokers, banks, investors, lenders, etc.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
  • Solid analytical/logical mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (clear, concise, and confident) with the ability to manage internal and external relationships
  • Proactive and able to solve complex problems with minimal guidance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM, finance, accounting, or other quantitative area of study
  • Expert ability to create financial models in Excel
  • Strong Microsoft office skills including specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Extremely accurate and detailed-oriented with strong administrative skills
  • 2-3 years of experience real estate investment experience
