Payroll / Human Resources Administrative Assistant

Job summary

Provides full-time administrative and payroll support

Responsibilities
  • Supports administration, coordination, and application of company-wide payroll and human resources policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Coordinates paperwork related to benefits, retirement plans, COBRA continuation, workers’ compensation, and unemployment.
  • Maintains employee files and database.
  • Schedules interviews and applicant testing. Coordinates travel arrangements as needed.
  • Schedules and coordinates new employee orientations.
  • Assists with communication of benefit programs changes and updates.
  • Screens and routes telephone calls.
  • Performs general clerical duties including but not limited to filing, photocopying, faxing, and mailing.
  • Performs general editing duties including but not limited to proofing and formatting documents.
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Assist with preparation of human resource reports such as attendance, new hire and turnover.
  • Preparation of bi-weekly payroll and payroll reports.

 

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years office/administrative experience.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of Payroll & HR laws and regulations.
  • Proficient on Microsoft Word, Excel, ADP
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
