Job summary

The Director of Capital Markets will be a critical contributor to PEG’s ongoing growth by securing the required capital for existing and future investment vehicles to continue scaling PEG’s real estate portfolio. The goal of this role will be to successfully drive capital raising across the required capital stack particularly with institutional groups, family offices, and HNW investors. The successful candidate will identify and manage new and existing investor relationships, understand the financial models, communicate the value proposition to prospective investors, and work closely with other team members within PEG Capital Partners. This position will report to the Managing Director.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct outreach, cultivate, and manage relationships with institutional groups (i.e. government pension funds, corporate pension funds, foundations, offshore entities, private equity groups, and etc.), family offices, RIAs, and HNW investors to raise capital.
  • Develop and manage relationships with the firm’s investors, both new and existing.
  • Liaise and serve as the primary point-of-contact with existing and prospective investors to facilitate capital raising efforts.
  • Assist with capital formation strategies and activities around raising capital.
  • Plan and execute fundraising initiatives, create strategic partnerships, and identify and analyze potential funding sources and opportunities.
  • Understand the underwriting for each investment vehicle and be able to articulate the value proposition to prospective investors.
  • Develop a strong understanding of PEG’s brand, track record, and pipeline of investment vehicles.
  • Participate in the development of marketing materials and implementation of marketing campaigns to reach the firm’s capital raising strategies and goals.
  • Maintain presence externally in the field through participation at industry conferences, with outside organizations, on committees, etc.
  • Create and maintain relationships with industry influencers, key strategic partners, and investor networks.
  • Establish a professional network and maintain contacts and records of activity in the company’s CRM database.
Qualifications
  • Five or more years of experience in business development or related activity; experience capital raising for real estate private equity and funds preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain relationships with clients; established equity investor relationships with LP-centric institutions that invest in alternative assets a plus.
  • Proven ability to interpret, understand, and communicate financial models and returns, (i.e. IRR, NOI and other KPIs).
  • Experience in developing a successful capital raising process.
  • Ability to prepare sophisticated and accurate pitch decks for potential investors while collaborating with multiple internal stakeholders.
  • Possess strong personal integrity with the highest ethical standards.
  • Have a long-term investment mindset geared towards exceeding investor expectations.
  • Experience working with a CRM to organize a pipeline of opportunities and report weekly; Salesforce knowledge a plus.
  • Minimum BS/BA in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal – across all levels of the organization and externally.
  • Financial acumen with strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Frequent travel and attend after hours events.
