Construction Manager

Job summary

Assist with design team selection. Participate in project design with active participation of design systems, methodology of construction, material selections, interior/exterior design decisions. Oversee the tendering and selection of General Contractors performing work on PEG projects. Assure during the execution of construction that the Owner’s interests are preserved to yield best value to our investors and PEG Companies. Primary focus will be to manage and assure projects are properly contracted, budgets are realistic and achievable, and that projects under construction will meet time/cost/quality objectives established prior to the start of construction. This position will involve some travel for projects outside the Wasatch Front area. This position will also involve the training and mentoring of junior level Construction Managers and other office-based team members.

Responsibilities

Participate in Design Team vetting and selection. Manage the planning, materials, building, and budget of a construction or component of a project. Manage the contractual relationship between Ownership and Contractor. Enforce safety measures and company regulations and assist with required licenses and permits. Must have proficient written and communication skills. Must develop and understand project schedules, understand how to accurately forecast using updated schedules, how to accurately forecast and report project progress, making sure work is completed on time and within project financial forecasts. Will assist with supervise and mentor junior level staff.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five years of work experience
  • Construction management experience
