Construction Manager

Job summary

Assist with design team selection. Participate in project design with active participation of design systems, methodology of construction, material selections, interior/exterior design decisions. Oversee the tendering and selection of General Contractors performing work on PEG projects. Assure during the execution of construction that the Owner’s interests are preserved to yield best value to our Investors and PEG Development. Primary focus will be to manage and assure projects are properly contracted, budgets are realistic and achievable – and projects under construction will meet Time/Cost/Quality objectives established prior to the start of construction. This position will involve some travel for projects outside the Wasatch front area. This position will also involve the training and mentoring of junior level Construction Managers and other office-based team members.


Manage and oversee multiple projects both of new construction and remodel/refurbishment of existing facilities. Participate in Design team vetting and selection. Manage the planning, materials and building system selection, and budget development for each assigned project (both new construction and renovation projects). Manage the contractual relationship between Ownership and Contractor, between Ownership and design firms. The Construction Manager will assist in obtaining required licenses and permits. Must have proficient written and communication skills. Must develop and understand project schedules, understand how to accurately forecast using updated schedules, understand how produce accurate forecasting and report project progress, making sure work is completed on time and within project financial forecasts. This position will assist with supervision and mentoring of junior level staff. This position also requires travel (approx. 25%) and involves the management of multiple concurrent projects in the various stages of the project lifecycle.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of work experience.
  • Construction management experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of and use of Construction Management software.
  • Ability to do some travel.
  • Ability to walk/inspect active construction site.
  • Work experience with Pre-construction functions, estimating, scheduling, contract administration.
  • Ability to represent the Developer in a positive, professional manner.
