Analyst, Fund and Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis

Job summary

The analyst on the Finance team will assist in driving the performance of PEG Companies, its subsidiaries, and Real Estate Investment Funds through detailed financial planning and analysis. This position requires an understanding of basic accounting principles, financial statements, and the ability to forecast how current performance will impact the future position of the company with both cashflow and profitability. This position will have a high degree of exposure throughout the organization (including the Executive Team) and requires the ability to take complex information and present it concisely to management. Additionally, this position will have access to sensitive information which will require a high degree of integrity and trust.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the Executive Team and business leaders across the organization to evaluate and analyze the financial impact of pursuing various strategic initiatives
  • Prepare the Chief Financial Officer with a variety of monthly reports to measure and track performance across the different verticals of PEG
  • Maintain a cash forecast for multiple Real Estate Investment Funds managed by PEG (75-200M in size) and prepare distribution recommendations
  • Work with the strategy lead to underwrite performance of funds
  • Optimize performance of funds by working with Fund Managers and strategy leads to determine timing of disposition of assets
  • Prepare quarterly fund reports
  • Perform monthly variance and trend analysis for PEG Companies which encompasses its subsidiary companies each containing multiple departments
  • Meet with the business leaders of the organization including department heads and company presidents to review variance analysis and update PEG companies forecast monthly using the information gained in your conversations with the business leaders
  • Consolidate financials (income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statements) from each of PEG Companies’ 5 subsidiaries
  • Work closely with department managers to create and maintain an accurate financial forecast for PEG Companies
  • Create the monthly financial package that is sent to the Executive Team and Board of Directors
  • Create and maintain annual budgets for each subsidiary company and their respective departments
  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 0 – 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (clear, concise, and confident)
  • Strong analytical/logical mind-set with an emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy
  • Work well in a dynamic and growing company that is constantly evolving
  • Highly competent in Excel
