Acquisition Analyst

Job summary

Become an integral part of the Acquisitions and Asset Management Team which performs the primary financial analysis and management of information critical for investment decisions. The Team’s main responsibility is to provide PEG’s investors with top-tier investment opportunities through thorough analysis of project economics and rigorous market analysis. Specifically, this position will focus on PEG’s value-add acquisition/hotel conversion strategy. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical prowess, be a strong strategic thinker and have good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and underwrite acquisition targets for both multifamily acquisitions and hotel conversions
  • Perform IRR, cash-on-cash, NPV, ROI, discounted cashflow, and other financial analyses
  • Be a mentor and example to intern members of the team
  • Assist acquisition deal leads in acquiring new properties into PEG’s existing portfolio including due diligence, working with 3rd parties (brokers, lenders, property inspectors, etc.), financial review and all other acquisition related activities
  • Assist in drafting investment committee memorandums and equity/investor presentations
  • Actively assist in implementing plans to maximize income, improve cash flow, and increase long term asset value
  • Research market trends impacting the broader real estate market
  • Assist in project management functions during deal onset including assembling budgets, communicating processes with other internal teams, researching the zoning and entitlement process

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to operate in complex financial models
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (clear, concise, and confident)
  • Proactive and able to solve complex problems with minimal guidance
  • Strong Microsoft office skills including specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Focused on producing top-quality, detailed-oriented work
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or another related field
